*Work, Sleep & Play are workshop-style events for parents who are interested in sharing ideas and resources. The idea for them came from a small group of parents whose babies had outgrown “mothers groups” and who wanted to be able to learn and be supported as their babies grew into toddlers and then children; they made transitions into juggling family, work and other responsibilities; and who wanted to meet other like-minded parents. Our events are run either in the evening or on Saturday mornings to encourage working parents to attend and each event has a theme to focus discussions. Recent events have covered the themes of ‘ play’,’ sleep’ and ‘making changes’ and each has had a guest speaker and followed by a thought-provoking discussion. We aim to host 4-6 workshops a year and to encourage attendance for our workshops usually have registration fee of £5 (or donation) to cover refreshments before donating to the NCT.
